Public Records Requests

The City of Lake Forest Park is committed to providing full access to public records in accordance with the Washington State Public Records Act (RCW Chapter 42.56). The purpose of the Act is to provide the public with full access to records concerning the conduct of government, mindful of individual privacy rights and the desirability of the efficient administration of government.

The City provides various records on its website, www.cityoflfp.gov. Requesters are encouraged to view records available on the website prior to submitting a records request.

Process to Request Public Records

In September 2015, the City Council adopted Resolution 1497, approving the City’s Public Disclosure Administrative Policy and the process for responding to public records requests. Requests are submitted to the Public Records Officer on the Public Records Request Form. Requests may be submitted in person or by mail, email, or fax. Oral requests are not accepted.

If you are requesting public records from the Police Department, please use the Public Records Request Form for PD.

Lake Forest Park Municipal Court files are not subject to the Public Records Act. Access to these records may be sought by contacting the Municipal Court directly.
