You need a Lake Forest Park business license if you are engaged in business activities within the Lake Forest Park (LFP) city limits. Call the Finance Department at 206-368-5440 x134, if you have questions about what activities are considered engaged in business.

In most cases, business licenses are approved in 1-3 days.

All LFP business licenses expire on December 31.

4. What is the business license fee?

2023:

$40.00 for businesses with a physical location in LFP. $80.00 for businesses located outside LFP and secondhand dealers, regardless of location. Payments must be made by check, cash, or cashier's check, to the City, or online via FileLocal.

5. Are there additional requirements for a home-based business application?

Yes, home-based businesses located in LFP must complete both the business license application and the home-based business license application addendum.

6. Are there additional requirements for tree contractors?

Yes, there is a separate business license application for tree contractors and an extra form is also required.

7. How do I submit a business license application?

Business license applications can be submitted online via FileLocal, or by mail or in person at City Hall during business hours (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday).

8. Do I need to have a State of Washington business license before applying for the local business license?

Yes.

9. Does Lake Forest Park have a local Business and Occupations (B & O) tax?

10. My license expired, do I need to file a new application?

Yes, if the previous business license expired more than 60 days ago, then a new application is required.
