Phillippa Kassover was first elected to the City Council in 2016. She grew up in the United Kingdom, and also lived in Singapore as a young child while her father served in the British Royal Navy. Phillippa came to the United States in 1972 and lived in Colorado until moving to Lake Forest Park in 2007. A naturalized U.S. citizen, Phillippa is married and, with her husband, has four children and five grandchildren.

Phillippa Kassover began her education at the London School of Economics and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Sociology at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Phillippa was a journalist covering local and state government, then ran a public opinion research firm focused on public policy. That experience was followed by more than 20 years as a communications and advancement professional for non-profit organizations and universities. Phillippa retired in 2013 from the University of Washington, where she served as Senior Director of Advancement. She is a member of Rotary International, served on a variety of community boards in Colorado, and is currently a board member for 522 Transit Now!
